Duck Duck Goose!

Thursday w CherryGrey!

Our Goal at TheCherryChannel live on Livestream is for CherryGrey to learn each week; whether it’s one word, a color, a sound, or an association.
This week thanks to (of all things) the Arias Trial airing live, Cherry has learned the word QUACK in NO uncertain “terms”.

As I work with her daily during her live feed on Livestream this so called “expert” on the stand for the Defense has clearly made it obvious to all intelligent minds, even Ms Grey’s, that if it walks like a Duck; Quacks like Duck, it IS a Duck! As we continued teaching and talking about the so called Expert on the stand, I continued to spout off what a QUACK he is; Cherry got it and pronounced proudly: QUACK QUACK QUACK right on cue. Hehe

Now to get her to associate that Ducks Actually Quack. At one point she said Turkey Quack Quack Quack when she darn well knows it’s Turkey gobble gobble gobble! Whatever, as long as she continues to expand her knowledge and vocabulary – it’s all good!

But the repeated insult on our intelligence by so called “expert” on the stand in the Arias trial hurts both our heads!

Cherry is a 4 yr Old African Grey Congo Parrot & has a vocabulary of 120 words.  She speaks some German and is learning Japanese.

Mainly she speaks ALMONDS which is her favorite thing to eat.  She already understands the concept of “same”.  Yellow Hello Awful, all sound the same.  When she realizes a word sounds like another she will say them on her own in succession.

Cherry responds to musical scores, various different musical instruments  and even knows when to say Ah ha! or Yep! in agreement during a conversations she hears.

Chaos Ensues

Chaos Ensues

OMG, it’s 2am.  I don’t know this, and I don’t really care.  I hear the ring tone and I commence with it’s tune singing my latest rendition of On the River Kwai!  I wake my Mamma & My Daddy, I fool them seriously as they know the phone is ringing and ringing and ringing off the hook with the tune of On the River Kwai, what they have been teaching me this past week.  I refuse to sing their lyrics and will stick to the ringtone thank you very much.  But Chaos has ensued, I assure you.  They both think their phones are ringing, but Ah Ha, it’s ME!  If you don’t believe me just sing along to this silly tune below; it’s how I learned the song and the ringtone…..hehe.  I may be just a 4 year old baby Hen, an African Grey Parrot, *from the congo no less* and I KNOW that photo is not R2D2 calling me, I know that photo is not from Babs or Barbara Walters to Interview me; maybe it’s Ellen.  We will see; won’t we?  It’s not Jane Valez Mitchell because she hasn’t said I’m her favorite pet yet!

We will see about that too!

Cherry is not “clicker” or Treat trained, to respond.  She responds because she appears to want to.  She sings because she loves to; and she swings and calls for her Daddy to come home at about 3pm to 5pm EST every day. Stay Tuned!
